How do replacements work?

In the application, your client will be asked, “Do you have, or have you applied for, any other life, health, disability insurance or annuities?” If there is an existing policy, select yes.

  • They’ll be asked for the total amount of life insurance coverage in force. Your client does not need to include any life insurance they have through work. Enter the coverage amount and continue.
  • They’ll be asked if they are currently applying for other life insurance or an annuity, and if any of this additional insurance would be accepted in addition to the current application.
  • Then, they’ll be asked if the coverage applied for will replace, discontinue, or change any existing life insurance or annuity contracts. If they would like to replace their existing policy, select yes, and provide details as required for your client’s state.
