My office doesn't allow personal phones — can I still use passkeys?
Yes — passkeys are designed exactly for this. As long as your OS authenticator is enabled on your work computer (Windows Hello PIN, TouchID, etc.) by your IT administrator, you can set up and use a passkey entirely from your desktop.
I work on a shared or office computer — should I set up a passkey?
No. Avoid setting up a passkey on a shared computer — anyone using that machine could access your account. Use SMS OTP instead. If you accidentally set one up, remove it from Settings → Account Settings → Account Security.
What if biometrics are restricted by my company's IT policy?
- Company-managed device: A PIN is sufficient — biometrics aren't required. Ask the IT admin to enable Windows Hello PIN only. No fingerprint or face scan needed.
- Personal device: You can enable biometrics yourself through Settings.
