- How do I log in with an authenticator app?
Page 1: Enter your email and the Email OTP sent to your inbox.
Page 2: Open your authenticator app, copy the current 6-digit code, and paste or type it in. You're in.
- What if my authenticator code doesn't work?
A few common reasons:·
- The code expired - it refreshes every 30 seconds; grab the new one· Your device's clock is significantly off - re-sync your device's date and time· You're reading a code from the wrong account in your authenticator app. Try again with a fresh code.
- If it still fails, use a backup code.
- What's the "Use a backup code" option for?
It's the fallback if you can't access your authenticator app - lost phone, reset device, deleted app, etc. Click "Use a backup code" below the 6-digit input and enter one of the codes you saved during setup. Each code works once and is then permanently consumed.
- What happens after I use a backup code to log in?
For your safety, your authenticator app enrollment is removed immediately. After you land on the home page, you'll see a banner asking you to set up a 2nd sign-in method again - either a new authenticator app, a passkey, or a verified phone. You'll also get an email confirming the backup code was used.
- What happens after 5 failed login attempts?
Your session will be locked for 15 minutes. Backup codes are also blocked during that window.
- Can I trust my device so I don't have to enter a code every time?
Yes. After a successful login, you'll see "Trust this device for 6 months." Trusted devices skip the 2nd factor until the 6-month re-verification.
